Charlotte, NC, more southern hospitality

One more visit on my loop of seeing family and friends. Eve lives in a lovely new home near downtown Charlotte. We walked to a restaurant for a yummy taco dinner, while catching up on news, since we have not seen each other over the last 12+ years, or so. Where does the time go? We walked to breakfast with British friend, Christine, who is a dedicated dog foster mom, and bee keeper, and met daughter, Anna, who conveniently lives only 4 doors away! Jo Jo got to know Eve's dog, Millie, the dachshund/beagle. So Jo Jo has yet another girlfriend, and they quickly became best friends. So many girlfriends. He is quite the ladies man, you know. In the evening, Eve and Rick invited me to a concert. Pavlo Simtikidis, is a contemporary Greek guitarist. The small venue really made for an intimate experience. These 4 musicians were not only very talented, but funny entertainers. Pavlo gave away his guitar via raffle at the end of the concert. Even though we didn't win, it was exciting anticipation. We ended the evening with a stop at a local brewery, for an original craft beer. It really hit the spot as we sat among many young men.
There was a sports event in town, so there were many coaches. We met excentric 75 year old Millard, and his dog, Lucky. Millard continued to entertain us with deadpan humor, and one liners. Believe it or not, but he guessed that I was from Rochester. Apparently there are many Rochester transplants in Charlotte. Lucky guess. Eve said she was from Kansas, but she couldn't fool him with her English accent. We shared several good belly laughs. What a wonderful and fun visit!
