Lancaster, PA
Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is what most people consider to be the heart of Amish Country. Although the Amish community is found in several States, all around this area. Barb and I continued to walk around the town and visited more galleries and shops. We ate tasty Thai food for lunch, and then yet another ice cream for desert. Oh dear, we have to stop doing that. There were several charming, quaint little galleries and boutiques all around the area. I enjoyed the Central Market Place in downtown Lancaster, which is the country's first and oldest Farm Market. Cool vaulted ceilings. Like many farm markets, they had a variety of items including meats, cheeses, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, homecraft and and gourmet coffee. The Amish served their wares. But before giving up the ice cream, I stopped at the Turkey Hill Experience to learn about making ice cream, and of course free sampling. Barb, Gary and I enjoyed our last dinner together, then we headed into her studio for a mini demo on clay flower making. Thank you, Barb for helping to make a fabulous time!
Sylvia it was so good seeing you. I had such a great time! Gary and I went to see The Hunchback of Notre Dame last week at the Fulton Opera House (where this picture was taken).
ReplyDelete. It was great - you'll have to come back next summer and we'll be tourists again!
