New Castle, DE
I spent a day in New Castle, a very historic town along the Delaware River. Many of these homes, and buildings were constructed in the 1600's and on through the 1700-1800's. I took a tour of the courthouse, where in 1776, New Castle declared its independence from Pennsylvania, and Great Britain, creating the Delaware state, and became part of the original 13 colonies. I managed to take JoJo with me as I walk the streets, but I also gave him a break leaving him in the RV under a huge shaded tree, on a cobblestone street. It was right next to the cemetery where there are plenty of tombstones dating back to the 1700's! I browsed through an antique store that had a lot of artifacts from that era. I stopped for some coffee, and enjoyed meeting local people who were also walking their dogs. The weather has been absolutely perfect, in the 70's, and partly cloudy. The kind of weather you wish would last all year long. ( its 107* in Phoenix) It is supposed to be this way for the next week or so. I returned back to Colleen's house, one last time, and we enjoyed an Asian inspired dinner. It was so great catching up with her. Tomorrow morning I've scheduled an oil change, the very first one for the Sylver Gypsy, so hopefully she'll get a clean bill of health, and I'll be on the road to New Jersey, heading towards the coast.
