More lunch.....

Jill was the brilliant valedictorian of our high school at Wayne Central, Ontario. I had lunch with her at Panera Bread in Penfield. Even though we didn't talk about this, Jill used to submit her sketches to the art teacher as part of our weekly assignments, in ballpoint pen. A very bold, and confident thing to do. I too, have been keeping a sketchbook, drawing in ballpoint pen. Its a leather bound book that I have been traveling with for many years. I need to dig it out, and do a sketch....soon. My time with Jill was like old times, as if we never skipped a beat, or a year. She is one of the nicest people that I know.

Sandra was my neighbor who lived across the street, from the very first house, that I owned in Irondequoit. I enjoyed yet another lunch and an afternoon catching up. Sandra and I share the exact same birthdate, in November. Sitting in her kitchen, it seems like yesterday when we shared morning coffee, on occasion, but that was back in the early 80s. I took a photo of my old house which has seen better days, but it was really good seeing it. I lived there for 4 years. The current owner's name is also Sylvia. Sandra and I are official members of a very special club. The orthopedic club. Her knees, my hip. It's all good.

I joined cousins, Wendy and Ron for their weekly beach volleyball game in Charlotte Beach. They have been playing with the same group of people for many, many years. The weather was absolutely perfect today, very comfortable, and sunny, like a dream summer day should be. It was nice seeing Lake Ontario again which looks much like being at the ocean.

  1. Fun to see the old stomping grounds! We didn't get to go on the beach when we were up there 2 months ago because we didn't dare take the dogs. The signs said no dogs on the beach. We spent too much time eating Abbotts though! LOL Enjoy the rest of your journey.
