A Ferry Ride, and on Towards Maine
The Sylver Gypsy enjoyed her very first ferry boat ride today, on Lake Champlain. It was nearly an hour's ride over the lake to Burlington, Vermont. From there I spent the next several hours driving through Vermont, into New Hampshire. I am on a mission to reach Maine. But not before I stopped to pick up some Vermont maple syrup. Oh yeah, the local brew. I think I will start putting this into my coffee. If time permits, I will stop to explore these areas on my return trip. I managed to find a state forest area approved for boondock camping. I climbed quite the incline into the White Mountain National Forest, to get to a small out cropping, and I think I'll be okay. However, I do have a neighbor nearby. I am officially in black bear and moose country. I'll be keeping Jo Jo very close by. Its the last day of his meds, so I am hoping that Mr. Spunk returns. He has been very "sleepy." He is looking good otherwise, and occasionally reverts into his defensive mode.
