Acadia National Park, Maine
I finally arrived at Acadia National Park, and found my boondocking camp at Shirley and Bob's, for the next couple days. Oh my goodness, this is a beautiful spot, overlooking the harbor where the fishing boats and lobster people come and go. I've already had my third meal on their back patio, and I'm just in love with this area. I'm in a "pinch me" state and so grateful that these folks offered me their driveway. Even though I'm not hooked up, and I'm completely off the grid, just a space in their driveway, in a safe neighborhood means the world. I took the shuttle bus into Bar Harbor and managed to hike the ocean path from Sandy Beach to Otter Cliffs. It was warm today, and JoJo was seemingly forced for much of the walk (2 miles). So he took turns riding inside his bag. Jo Jo always gets attention, so it's difficult to move along on a trail, because everybody has to stop and pet him. He is really doing well in his recovery, and I'm so happy that his fracture has not affected him, or at least it doesn't seem to have. I managed the shuttle bus back to base camp and enjoyed my dinner back on the patio.
There were many, many visitors here at the park, and many international visitors as well. Apparently, since my last visit, cruise ships now dock here, so there's an influx of people who come to this park. It is beautiful, and I can't wait to explore more of it today.
