Remote Maine

I didn't make it too far down the road today, maybe 35 or 40 minutes before I found Moose Cove, part of a Maine Preserve. It was a nice walk to the edge of the water where I saw a sunning sea lion, and was able to collect some rocks. It's a beautiful, original, and unspoiled coastline.

I was told to go on to Helen's Restaurant in Machias, Maine, for the best wild blueberry pie. So, I had a slice, with a cup of coffee, for an early afternoon treat. It was really good, and not too sweet, except the crust was nothing like what my mother would make. Is there anything better than Mom's crust? And, I even found a pottery gallery. So, I added yet another pot to my collection. It's a disease. A consumer's disease where I must have at least one pot from all the potters that I encounter.

I made my way to Jasper Beach. And managed to find rocks with green jasper. Beautiful red/grey stones with green inclusions. I am sure that I will add at least a thousand pounds of weight to the Sylver Gypsy, taking home fossils, rocks, and pottery. I may need an intervention for this addiction. I am boondocking tonight behind the hardware store, in town, designated for 24-hour parking, and hoping for the best.
