Still in Acadia
It's a warm day here in Maine, above average temperatures, but only about 80 degrees here. After a couple of days of hiking, I'm pretty worn out, right now, and decided to just take it easy. So I went to several spots along the shore to park my chair, read a book, and occationally left JoJo in the Gypsy, to nap. It's stunning that in just a few hundred feet, or miles, the shoreline takes on a different terrain. From granite rock, to rock beaches, sand beaches, and sharp black volcanic rock. It's beautifully diverse. I stopped at a farmers market and picked up a fresh ear of corn, and some tomatoes before heading out. I have not worn sunscreen, so I'm looking pretty tan. There is something so healing about the sun, as I am still not feeling 100%. A bit achy and tired. If this keeps up, I'll get checked out. I did pick many ticks off of Jo Jo, back in New Jersey in May. He has medication for ticks and fleas, and so far he seems fine. Hopefully none of them got me.
In any event, I enjoyed a final stroll on the Bar Island Path, which is near the town of Bar Harbor. When the tide is low there is about a three-hour window to walk the bar to a small island. This is a unique opportunity to catch tide pools and whatever remains on the sandbar before the tide comes back in. So lucky me found parking for the Sylver Gypsy, as the town is quite busy, with restricted rv parking, ugh. Jo Jo is on the fence about doing a beach stroll. He does not like the water. I had a bit fun photographing him while he wore a crab hat. Silly boy. He really is quiet tolerant.
