A Few More Days
We made a quick visit back to Shutt's Cider Mill, where we picked up some fresh squeezed sweet cider, and apples. I also picked up a little bottle of their hard cider, which is a new feature at this market here on Plank Road. I just love autumn in New York. After a quick lunch at Marina's school, where I meet her friends, the day was followed by an evening spent with Jim's family, a Brongo reunion. Amazingly, we got together every member of the his family for dinner this evening. Bill Gray's is well known for their hamburgers and Abbott's for their frozen custard. It was really fun catching up and talking with everyone on this warm evening. It was also a bit sad just not knowing when, if ever, we will get together like this again.
We found our way to the Rochester public market. I was here about 2 months ago. But on a Saturday morning, during the fall season, its peak time, with crowds and harvested produce. Just coming here to smell the fresh fruit and vegetables was worth the effort. They even have wine tasting now, along with samples of jam, maple syrup, and baked goods. We picked up some fresh peaches, local wine, and enjoyed a cinnamon fry cake. What a perfect way to spend the morning!
