Carpenertia, near Santa Barbara

From Ojai, it wasn't too far up the road towards Santa Barbara. I found a local farm stand and bought home grown cherries, and asparagus. I decided to stop in Carpinteria, to find a campsite which luckily, I did, not far from the ocean's edge. I drove into the city of Santa Barbara, and spent some time in Funk town. An eclectic spot with a variety of art studios. Many were not open. I am slightly off season here, which is ok.
I wasn't far, from Stearns Wharf, so I took a stroll with Jo Jo. It's similar to a lot of piers, and was a very pleasant walk, as I enjoyed the weather, and sat for a while with a Corona, while listening to a "baby boomer" musician sing his heart out. As usual, Jo Jo got a lot of attention, and I was so proud that he was well-behaved. He may be considered an old man, as he will be 11 in about a week! After a quick stop to get some chicken breast at Albertson's, I returned, to grill up my dinner with that fresh asparagus. Yum. The southern cliff's edge, of Carpinteria State Park, was surprisingly remote, and I enjoyed the evening stroll. I spotted a seal as well. However the winds, and the temperature are quite cool. I don't know if it's typical, though I better get used to this, as I go further north. As a desert dweller, it certainly is a change of pace for me!
