Heading north of Dawson Creek, BC
I might’ve just spent my best night so far, and didn’t wake up even once the whole night. That is a rare event for me. Truth be told I took a better quality pain reliever to try to settle my bruised or cracked ribs. It’s been over 2 1/2 weeks and they’re still pretty damn sore. I’m not looking forward to using the strain of the dumpsite, but decided to remove one of my ports, which gave me trouble last time. So all went well and after a quick stop at the grocery store to pick up some fruit and eggs, I was back on the Alaskan Highway. I stopped at a few locations along the way, and had a very long conversation with Amanda at the Taylor information center. She was quite knowledgeable about all things in Canada and we hit it off talking about all sorts of things. I have several brochures and flyers that I will need to go through so I have better information going forward. I continued further north, and spent another couple of hours in this continually vast logging area. One of my apps indicated a campsite down a forest road but by the time I got there, there was a rather sad looking truck parked, so I quickly left, but not until I witnessed a couple of black bears scurrying back into the forest. So cute… from the inside…of my rv. I went further down, hitting another forest road and managed to get to a pull out with a pond which is where I hope to spend the night. Score! Dusk these days is after 11 PM so it is plenty bright out by the time I go to bed. I’m not sure if the moose or deer or other animals will come to this pond between the bedtime hour. In the meantime, I lay here, looking out of my window and admiring the view in the sun.
