Kitwancool Lake, BC

Driving again, leaving the Tanzilla River, at the Lions Club campsite. A nice spot along the river, and a beautiful awakening to the river, which always moves along. I took Jo Jo out at 35° this morning. There were only two other campers here. I decided to backtrack, which I don’t like to do, towards the government offices at Dease Lake, that offered free Wi-Fi about 15 minutes north. I had to address some business regarding some reservations for an upcoming wedding, as well as a debit card transaction for the last gas fill. I was able to catch up while preparing breakfast in this parking lot and moved along at about 8:45 AM. I did a serious 5 hour drive today heading further south with a stop at Meziadin Junction. I got gas as well as paid for some Wi-Fi to hook up with more of civilization. And not really a fun task but I prefer to be hooked up. Cellular service has been out of commission for many, many miles. No thanks to Verizon that thinks they’re everywhere. I headed further south about an hour and a half until I wound up at the shore of Kitwancool Lake. These days my favorite app for finding a camp spot is iOverlander. It took me slightly off the highway, and when I reached the very end to the suggested spot, which was filled. But I always make a note in my brain as to plan B, C, D, or E, and I was able to backtrack to another spot, right along the lake. This is another lottery win. A slightly steep decline as I backed up towards the lake and maneuvered a little bit to level out. I immediately got out and did a polar plunge as it was 76° and I was hot. I’m parked here along the lake and it’s stunning with the call of loon, however, there is smoke somewhere out there. There is a fire. Leaving a very mystical magical atmosphere. Still, I won the lottery, it’s peaceful. It’s secluded, it’s on a lake.
