Near Glennallen, AK
August 15, 2023
It was cold this morning, 42°. In my world that’s already considered cold. At least that’s what it was when I left at about 9:30 AM. It may have been colder as things seemed almost frosty. I headed north on the way to Haines Junction, and after a few hours it didn’t seem like I went that far, but I was able to make progress past some road construction and stops overlooking several glaciers. I met a man at the overlook who spends winters in Arizona, and knows Cave Creek well. I guess there is always a small world when we boil it down. Using my apps, I was able to find a pull out off of Highway 1, just before Glennallen. I have excellent reception, and once I found a spot for parking, I realized I was in blueberry country and gathered up a small bowl full, which will probably suit me for the next two mornings. I wore my bear bell, as I saw moose droppings. And I’m always aware of bear, or I’m always paranoid of bear. It’s raining……again.
Catching up on your blogs! Reliving the drive thru you. What aps do you use to find those pull-outs. My experience has been drive until I find one. If that one is no good there's a better one down the road. Nee to try your way.
