It was difficult pulling myself away from my perfect little camp spot on the lake. But it’s time to make some progress. After a pitstop for gas, I found a farmers market in the small town of New Hazelton, where I picked up a quart of delicious blackberries, chocolate, zucchini bread, a pecan tart, as well as a egg and bacon quiche. There weren’t a lot of vendors and yes, they had some awesome looking garden vegetables, but I am at least two days from the border and can’t cross over with that. So sadly, I had to refrain from supporting those farmers. Today seemed like a long drive day, leaving at 8:30 in the morning and finally settling into my camp spot at 5:15. Along with stopping here and there, a five hour trip turns in to eight+. My camp spot here is not that exciting, especially after that perfect lake spot. However, I’m alone, not being bothered by anyone, although I’m close to the highway which quiets down overnight. But I did enjoy was the gorgeous fall colors that I found among the trees and shrubs here. I actually had a pretty good nights sleep and I’m anxious to get back on the road today.
