A Day at Quinn’s Hot Springs, MT
The morning was gorgeous, with just slight foggy clouds on the hills along the beautiful Clark Fork River. The neighbors on either side of me must have use their RV as a place marker as nobody was here tonight as we are reaching the holiday weekend, so it’s likely they are local and wanted to secure a spot. Generally speaking that’s not something most campsites allow, but this is dispersed camping in the forest, which anything goes. I had less than a 10 minute drive to get to Quinn‘s Hot Springs resort, and made it just in time to check in. I took a well-deserved shower before spending hours soaking in the springs, trying each one of them. Someone recommended a hot soak, then immediately followed by the polar plunge, then back to the hot and back-and-forth. Apparently it helps with circulation. I talked to a few people, including Judy from Florida, and with a group from all over the country as well as fourth grader Paisley, who seemed like she was the only child here. Most were seniors. I so appreciate the fact that this resort did not over book and you must’ve had prearranged reservations, it made it much more, enjoyable not to have masses of people and to soak in your own personal space. The time flew by and by 4 PM I was ready to find my campsite. I decided not to go back to my gorgeous previous spot only as I know it will be busy and I prefer to find someplace more isolated in the forest. So I found a spot. On national Forest Road 412 only five minutes from Quinn‘s. It’s pretty level and the only pull out in the entire area with a huge cliff hill next to me so I’m pretty sure my neighbors will be very far up or down the road. It was a perfect option!
