Hueco Tanks State Park

The winds were whipping last night. No, make that howling. So sleep was on and off. Even with an early arrival this morning at Hueco Tanks State Park,  there was a waiting list to get in, but I managed to get in at 10 a.m. They have some very strict rules at this park including viewing an orientation film. I managed to find the pictographs even though the last trail was not very well-marked. It brought me to a lagoon in the desert. Its springtime here and the willow trees are blooming. I stood there in silence but could hear thousands, if not millions of honey bees hovering through the willow trees. Eventhough it was beautiful, it was a bit Eerie listening to those bees. My parents spoke highly of this park, as they visited here a few times. They enjoyed the camping. It was in the low 70s today, so the weather was really very pleasant. I am heading to Van Horn, on my way to Big Bend National Park.
