Cumberland Island, Georgia

I'm in Georgia! I didn't drive too far today, less than 2 hours. I arrived at the Cumberland Island National Seashore. I checked it out, and realized that a ferry is needed to cross over to the island. Of course no dogs are allowed on the ferry, but on the island it's ok to have your dog. (should I swim to the island? Hmmmm, tempting.) But to get there with your dog you would have to hire a private boat. Sounds really expensive. So with plan B, I arranged for a house sitter to watch Jo Jo. It's a national service, and it will be the first time I have used it. Jessica lives on the military base here, and will watch JoJo tomorrow while I take the ferry and spend most of the day on the Island. I hope to see wild horses, find some sharks teeth, and experience a remote beach. I have found it very challenging when going to the National Parks, as they really are not dog friendly. And provide no information to dog owners. Oh, well, I hope that I have figured it out on my own. I parked Sylver under wild oaks with a symphony of Spanish moss hanging down. It's hot here, 92, and the shade helped to keep things cool while I worked on arrangements for JoJo. Tonight I am at a campground next to a river. I made quesadillas, and now will take a walk with puppy.
