Harrisburg, PA
I spent most of the day at Fort Hunter, on the river. I found a swinging park bench in the shade. I took the time to read, and make phone calls. It was Fathers Day, so of course I was thinking about my dad. For most of my life we would get together for Father's Day, and either go to a restaurant, or visit grandparents, or spend the time at my parents home. Holidays are very different now. I enjoyed the view looking at the Susquehanna River and watching the boaters launch their boats. It was seriously getting warm here today, about 94 degrees, and humid, which I think is rare for this time in Pennsylvania. I am boondocking at a friend's house while he is out of town. It was the first time that I didn't close my side door, and just used the screen door. I decided to place Jo Jo and his house right in front of the screen door so that worst case scenario, if somebody came around, he would at least alert me.
Hot, can you say hot? My gauge indicated 102 degrees on Monday. I went to City Island which is downtown, for a while, and it was so hot that I actually went into the Susquehanna River, and swam around with Jo Jo. God only knows what type of disease I collected, and I'm hoping for the best. I met Missy and Howard who were from the area and were intrigued with my RV. We began to talk, and I invited them over to take a look inside. After a lovely chat, I went over to my picnic table to continue reading and gave myself a manicure. Missie came over, and said that they are now considering selling their house to buy an rv. Maybe I gave them the bug, as it was something that they had been considering. It was a rather uneventful, though relaxing day, however the heat has just kicking my butt. Fortunately, I met Robert right before bed, as he finally arrived home. It was still in the high 80's, so I ran the generator all night, for the first time, with relief of ac.
