Hershey, Pennsylvania, chocolate town

I left the Cape May area this morning in a huge downpour. I was parked in the lawn area overnight and really worried that I was going to be stuck, so as soon as I was aware, I moved on to the parking lot. I was fine, but apprehensive until I reached the lot. Whew. I drove about 3 hours to Hershey Pennsylvania. I had time to view the Hershey Story Museum, learning about the history of Milton Hershey and his philanthropy. I was able to learn about the differences of chocolate, cocoa, and cocoa butter. They also had a display on sugarcane production which is quite the process. And of course, the best part was the chocolate lab. We were able to make our own chocolate bar using melted chocolate marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbs. Basically we made smores. I learned about the chocolate making process, and viewed a map of the world to show where cocoa beans grow. Apparently the demand for chocolate is extreme, and production is up throughout the world. I guess people will just never stop eating chocolate, and I would be one of them. I think, I alone, contribute to the supply and demand of chocolate!
