Belfast, Maine
I left the charming town of Stonington, and headed towards Belfast, about an hour and a half away. But not before I visited the farmer's market, right across from the ball park, where I slept for the night. I found a treasure trove of organic vegetables, goat cheese, baked goods, hand made soap, and a chicken burrito for lunch. Yes, burritos in Maine, lol! I found Heritage Park, in Belfast, and parked it for a while, enjoying my burrito. I parked the Sylver Gypsy in town, and walked the Main Street into a variety of shops and art galleries. Everyone was super friendly. I carried Jo Jo in my kangaroo pouch, and of course, like usual, he attracted much attention. He is definitely an icebreaker, and everyone needs to know more about him, and then naturally, more about me. I wound up in a shop called: The Meadow of Belfast. Dave was quite nice, and took time gift wrapping a prior purchase, by a friend of his. In the meantime, I asked about the lovely streaming music of Kandice Springs, as she played a duet with Daryl Hall, of 70's Hall and Oates. Apparenly seen on You Tube. I patiently waited, and we chatted, and in the end he gave me a bag of chocolate-covered toffee as a get well gift to me, and Jo Jo. He was an absolute delight, and I came away feeling really good about this little, small town. I am hoping to spend the night in the community parking lot, right next to the harbor. I did the Harbor Walk, and took some somber, special, twilight photographs.
