Back in Rochester, home base

I'm finally in Rochester, and what a busy couple of days it's been. Jo Jo was checked out at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, and he's doing quite well. He can actually go back to his regular crunchy dog food, and I hope that his digestive tract improves. Let's just say that it's been a bit messy with him. He'll wear the muzzle for 4 more weeks, and they hope that there's a better alignment of his jaw. In any event he's back to his perky self, and all other behaviors seem normal. Other than getting extra, extra attention, especially with his muzzle, he's quite the star of the show, as I go out and about.

Jim flew in on Friday and we spent Saturday running some errands and meeting up with his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Teresa. Timing is everything, as we were able to pick up Lincoln Fire Department chicken barbecue dinners. This was a tradition for many years, as I lived in this area, and it is something we looked forward to each summer. We arrived almost an hour before they served and fortunately got our share. There are usually dozens, if not over a hundred people in line waiting their turn, and they do sell out. It is a very important fundraiser for the fire department.

We also met Wendy, Ron, and Marina at the Macedon Lumberjack Festival. This Festival has been around for 36 years. I actually lived in the town of Macedon in the 70's, when I was young. So I guess I could say I went back to my hometown to enjoy the hometown festivities. The weather has turned really cool. Its jacket weather, in the fifties. So we watched the tournament of women, and men wielding their axes, using large hand saws and chainsaws to perform a timed series of tasks. Boy, they have a lot of stamina and strength, and I really admired their skill. After enjoying some fry bread, salt potatoes, and visiting vendors, we headed back to my brother-in-law for a delicious homemade pasta dinner.

I'm at the RV dealership finally working on some of my warranty issues for the RV. Really its just some minor stuff that I wanted to make sure was documented while I was under warranty. I am now out of my standard warranty, after my trip to Maine, and have driven over 13,300 miles to date. It'll still be a few more miles by the time I get back home to the Phoenix area.
