Horses, Bourbon, and Tobacco, Kentucky

I spent a good long day fossil hunting at Trammel Fossil Park, as well as Caesar Creek State Park. I found a variety at each location. My brain is now thinking about creating a mural, but not sure what context, either a wall piece or three-dimensional shape using the fossils along with ceramic pieces. We shall see.

So what to do on a rainy day? I'm in Kentucky, where its horses, bourbon, and tobacco, How better to spend it, than by touring Kentucky bourbon distilleries? I went to Wild Turkey and Four Roses distillery in the Lexington, Kentucky area. I have already visited Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, and Maker's Mark, more than 15 years ago. So, I wanted to visit new places. It was like deja vu learning about the distillery process, and the art of making quality bourbon, using corn, rye and barley. And in the end, we got to sample it. Hollywood's Mathew McConaughey, is creative director at Wild Turkey, and his bourbon blend, "Longbranch," was sold out. Dang, the sample was so good. There was none available at the distillery, however they mentioned that it could be found at any area or nationwide liquor store.

I'm hoping for a good night in the town of Cave City, Kentucky. I'm planning on a visit to Mammoth Caves National Park, tomorrow, along with other caves. We'll see about the underground experience!
