Rainy Days and Mondays

What to do on a cool rainy day in Rochester, New York? My, what a difference a week makes, regarding the weather? As the rain came down and cooled the air, it was certainly quite comfortable for sleeping nights. So, Jim, his brother Bob, Teresa, and I decided to go bowling. It's one of Jim's former passions, and something we have not done in many, many, years. We all got a really big kick out of getting gutter balls, one after the other. High scores of 31 and 58 during our first game. During our second game we striked and spared, and would you believe it, no seriously, would you believe it, that I was the highest-scoring player out of the four of us? I got a 115 score! We couldn't stop laughing at razzing each other over how bad we were doing. After a quick lunch break at Schaller's Drive-In, which is also a Rochester burger tradition, we headed back to pick up the Sylver Gypsy at the dealership. Her minor issues have been repaired, under warranty, and she is again set free to resume travel.

Finally, I had a lunch date with Bethany. Bethany and I went to Nazareth College. As art majors, she went on to a full career as an art educator, while I perused a career as a studio artist. We also spent time at Powers Farm Market painting  pumpkins for the Halloween season. It's something that I did, starting in high school. I know that sounds rather strange. But for some 25 plus years, I would paint pumpkins and gourds at Powers Farm Market. We painted funny characters, and scary faces. Bethany and I worked hand-in-hand during this season. It was really fun catching up with her. She has a beautiful home with wonderful gardens, full of unusual, and rare plants of color, texture, and shapes. What a well rounded couple of fun days!
