Oregon

Fortunately, it was quiet in the field, at the casino, and I headed on to Jedediah Redwoods State Park, to hike the Simpson - Reed trail. It was my last stop in the California Redwoods Forest, before a stop at Smith River, to check out the clean waters in this area. I appreciated, but was sad to see so many fallen trees where the exposed roots look like a majestic open flower, about 15 or 20+ feet in diameter. I have to wonder what it sounded and felt like, when these trees toppled over. The silence in this wooded area was so appreciated, eventhough a large noisy group of high school students were getting ready to head out. Jo Jo got quit the attention.

I finally arrived in Oregon, and settled in to Harris Beach State Park. Several of the apps that I use regarding boondocking had "sorted" reviews of this area, so I took a chance here, even when the sign said "full campsite," that there might be something for me. They had one remaining spot left as a tent site, which in essence is a boondocking site with no hookups. The amazing Sylver Gypsy is more than equipped for dry camping. I am right next door to the hot showers so it was quite convenient for me.

I spent some time climbing down a steep trail from the top of the campsite cliff, to the beach area, and it was a beautiful sunny blue sky day, and a good workout too. There are rock monoliths, and drift wood/logs/trees, and this is the Oregon, WA, and Northern CA coastline. Stunning!
