Wickiup Reservoir, OR

Well, you know that saying..."not all who wander are lost?" I definitely wandered the long way to Wickiup Reservoir. Following along the dam, to the boat launch, it took quite a while, and I was definitely on the long route. Another wash board dirt road, with plenty of dust! I have nearly given up on endless cleaning, at least for the time being. Poor, Sylver.....she is.....really dusty. I dont know for sure, but if I didnt know better, I would say it is all volcanic ash. Even more dust, I think, than Arizona! A new air filter is needed, in the furure.

I parked near the boat launch, grabbed beach supplies, and headed out to the edge of the reservoir. Fortunately, it lines the forest, so I found a partially shaded spot perfect, with temperatures in the 70's, hanging out with Jo Jo.

I talked with my sister, for quite a while,  watching beach goers swimming, surf boarders paddling, fishing, boating, walking the dog, and I even saw a deer trotting out along the shore. The sky was brilliant blue, and I had enough shade, so I wasn't getting fried. Chipmunks came around as well. It was a relaxing day, after a couple of pretty active days. I hope to hit the road, tomorrow, for more!  Dispersed camping, again, in the forest tonight.
