Logan Pass
On another climb up to Logan Pass!
Well, I guess that third time is a charm. I just had to make my way up to Logan Pass for a third time. Not that I needed to get up there to the visitor center, and it's a good thing it wasn't my plan, because the parking lot, yet again, was over filled to capacity and including myself, I had to move on to the next pull out. But it's okay since my intention was to pull out and park my camping chair, and take the time to do yet another sketch in my leather bound sketchbook.
I am glad I got to Logan Pass the other day, before 9 a.m. which is the key to parking. In this case, the people that pulled out along with me, and parked here, and walked back to Logan Pass Visitor Center. About a mile away, as I was literally left alone with no traffic, for the entire hour that I spent here. Only at the very end, did a visitor come by, and congratulate me on a spot well obtained, which was a breathtaking view of all the mountains, and patches of snow. From there I headed back down to the valley, checked into my last night at Fish Creek campsite and spent the rest of the afternoon at the shore of Lake McDonald. But not before I paid a visit to Lake McDonald Lodge, which unfortunately was closed, unless you had a reservation. Like most of the lodges in these older national parks, they have a very historic and intriguing architecture which beckons for one to visit.
