Tucson Gem Show
After a very slow start, we headed towards the City of Tucson. I wanted to return to the Ramada Inn, for the gem show, and as we pulled in, we realized the show was breaking down. Technically, February 12th, was the last day of the show. However right across the street, towards the Motel 6, there were several exhibitors still open and ready for business. It was rather warm today, so I always have to think about Jo. He stayed in the kangaroo pouch which was safe from the crowds. I didn't have any specific items on my shopping list but one piece caught my eye. It was a rough carved rock shaped into a bowl with two highly polished fossils on the edge. I had not seen a piece like this, as all the other fossil like items are highly polished, and non-functional. The price was right. The vendor told me it was a birdbath. Then he looked at Jo Jo, and said...or a dog bowl. I decided to use it as a bowl to store my other fossil finds. It was fun browsing and by early afternoon we were ready to hit the road home which is about two and a half hours away. I really enjoyed this trip, full of wonderful feel good moments! Words cant describe how I so appreciate these opportunities!
