North Pole to Fairbanks, AK
Well, another day of rain here, as my Boon-docking site next to the pond was perfect. I headed out and wound up at the North Pole, yes, where Santa and Mrs. Claus hash out all the toys with the elves for Christmas. Well, it was probably the most cliché place you’ve ever been to, and very Christmasy with fully decorated trees, along with Santa and a line for those young and young of heart. The motorcycle gang just arrived and they had dibs on Santa. I got a latte milkshake and hit the road towards Fairbanks. Well, I had to break down and go to Walmart and I spent a fortune on food staples, which were much more affordable here, as well as a bug zapping tennis racket. I stopped a few other times to find a lantern bug zapping device as well. I tried out the racket, and it worked! When you hit the mosquitoes, the device sparks blue, and makes a zapping sound. I didn’t even see the mosquitoes, and I was nailing them. I laughed so hard that Jo Jo just started barking which made me laugh even harder. Even he liked it. For some sick reason I really enjoyed this, maybe because they’ve been tormenting me so much. I considered a campsite near town but it had sketchy reviews and I didn’t want to pay for it. So I headed about 17 minutes out of town and wound up at a little parking lot with a pond. There was only room for four vehicles, and it was filled up by the time I went to bed. And for a change of pace, I got television reception, so I enjoyed watching some mindless tv. Merry Christmas!
