Seward, AK
Today we arrived in Seward, at Miller's Landing Camp, and took a kayak ride in the bay. A water taxi took us to a place called Humpy Cove Bay. The taxi had a ramp, where we simply walked off onto the rocky beach. We got a slight lesson on the rules of kayaking this tandem kayak. Eileen took the rudder. The skies were overcast, but eventually the sun came out. It was really gorgeous, and the water was calm. We saw a lot of sea stars, and birds. We were hoping for more fish, seals, or even whale, but not this time. We managed to stay dry, and in the end it was a perfect trip. A shower, and laundry was next on the to-do list followed by a sandwich dinner at the cafe. Jo Jo was left along for hours today. I always think about him. But we were camped in the woods, under large pine tree, and the temps were in the low to mid 60's. I am not even sure that he knew we were gone for so long. He naps a lot.
